I served with Gantuya in San Francisco. She was a firecracker. No fear was the way she worked the mission. She would stop 20 people to some of our 5. We were in Novato at the same time and went to a farmer's market to have a booth with information about the church. She would follow people as they shopped to tell them about the church. She wanted everyone to be as happy as she was. She was an inspiration to all of us on the mission. She continued to be happy and an inspiration. Last night she passes away after being in the hospital for reasons I don't know. She will continue to be an inspiration.
It made me think a lot. Life is way to short. I didn't keep in touch with her very often. I don't really keep in touch with many people. One day they or I could be gone. But it is a two way street. You also can't keep in touch with every person you've ever met. I guess it comes down to those who have made you better and have inspired you to be a better person.
It also made me think about what I'm doing. I hate being out of breath and being sore from riding the bike...but now is the time for me to finish the tour. If I keep waiting to do things until tomorrow, tomorrow may never come. I have wanted to write a book for so long. I keep working on different things but never finish.
TODAY is the day. TODAY is here. TODAY is now. Don't wait to write that e-mail to someone you've been thinking about. Don't wait to make a dream come true. TODAY is your time!

Amen! Thanks for the inspiration. We all need that reminder every so often. Probably more often than not! :)
ReplyDeleteI am sorry Maryn. It is hard lose a friend. One of the best things to do is look for good and let the good things about them change you and help you grow. I am proud of you
